Good news to tell
I'm finding living alone to be a mixed blessing. It's a new experience for me. While it is nice to have an entire living space to myself, I do miss my home community, my friends and the familiarity that living in the same place for more than a decade brings. But my adopted community is a nice place to live, too, and filled with nice people. The Piedmont Triad is a beautiful area. Even if my career doesn't allow me to return, I'll certainly come back for a visit.
I've had the opportunity to write about a variety of things, and I am grateful for the experience. But I'm finding that features seem to be my forte and most satisfying. People almost always are willing to tell their stories, even if they are reluctant to sing their own praises.
The people I meet here almost everyday are living proof that there's still good news to tell. The stories of their lives and mine often share the same elements -- discovery, evolution and growth.
